Solo Play 101

Solo Play is all about one-on-one battles! Challenge another player, set the game details, and let the showdown begin. Once you sign up, create your ranking profile, and set it up (check out how to sign up on Ranking), you’re ready to dive into duels and competitions, climb the leaderboard, and show everyone your skills!

Choosing Opponent and Inviting Them to Play

In Ranking, you can invite a friend from your community or challenge any other player on the platform. (Learn how to find players here.) Keep in mind the universal Ranking rule: Both you and your selected opponent must have joined the game, and both must belong to the same league in that game.

1. Locate Your Opponent

  • Among Friends: Easily find your friends within the Ranking community to play and compete together.
  • Among Other Ranking Players: To invite a player outside your friend list, use the leaderboard on the home page or the 'Ranks' tab at the top of the website. Apply the available filters on the leaderboard to find your desired player easily. (Learn about the leaderboard and how to use its filters to find players.)
  1. Visit Player’s Ranking Profile
Head to the player’s profile to explore their game stats, tournaments, achievements and more.
  2. Navigate to the Games Section
From the top navigation bar on their profile, click on the \"Games\" tab to see the player’s game details.
  3. Check Game Compatibility
Confirm that the player has joined the game you want to play and is in the same league as you. If they meet these criteria, proceed to the next step.
  4. Send an Invitation
Click the Invite button on the user info box located on the left side of their profile.
  5. Customize the Invite
Fill out the invite form by selecting the game, and choose whether or not to include a referee for the match.
  6. Send the Invitation
Press the Invite button to send your request.
  7. Coordinate Match Details
Once the player pre-accepts your invitation, a conversation window will automatically open between you and your opponent. Use this space to finalize match details, such as:
  • Platform (for online games)
  • Location (for in-person games)
  • Date and time
  • Referee preferences (if applicable)

Make your move and enjoy the challenge!

Managing Invitations

To accept or reject play invitations, or to cancel requests you’ve already sent:

  1. Go to you profile dashboard.
  2. From the left-side navigation bar, navigate to Records.
  3. In the Invitations section, you can manage all competition invitations, including solo and team competitions.
  4. Choose your desired action to either join or decline a competition.

If you receive an invitation, you can choose to either accept or reject it. However, if you’ve sent the invitation, you’ll have the option to cancel it as long as the other user hasn’t taken action yet.

Logging Results
The process of submitting results is the same for both solo and team games. It’s explained in detail here, but here’s a quick summary:

  • Submitting Results: One party logs the game result, including a photo or screenshot for verification.
  • Approving/Declining Results: The other party reviews the submission and either approves or rejects it.
  • Referee Role: If a referee is involved, their approval is required, and their decision is final.
  • Resolving Disputes: Without a referee, both parties must communicate to resolve any rejected results.
  • Rewards: Rewards are assigned once the result is mutually approved or confirmed by a referee.

Additional Benefits:

  • Sharing a photo of the result and having a referee both provide extra rewards, alongside the added benefit of minimizing potential disputes.
